The Penta T-Pad IS701R is a powerful tablet solution at an very affordable price. The tablet is better than Aakash tablets in many ways as discussed previously. It also comes with the reliability of BSNL.
Following are the features of the tablet:
- The tablet comes with Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) with a 7-inch resistive touch screen (800 x 600 pixels).
- The processor inside is ARM11 IMAP201 running at a clock speed of 1GHz and 256MB DDR2 RAM.

ya… but one more powerful feature Aakash have which BSNL tab dnt have,that is sim slot (in cheapest tab). sim slot is more popular then wifi… which makes little hesitation to consumers….

The only thing I would’ve liked added in aakash2 is a video-out, even a Rs.3000/- household tv has video-in. But HDMI and Wi-Fi in bsnl offering! Who the hell they are trying to cater to? Why can’t BSNL be taken in to market aakash2 along with a monthly unlimited tariff (Say around Rs.250/- as they earlier had in usb data card, albeit at low speed). This I believe would be a great success.

dont buy Aakash tablet. The specification are worst.. and also we may face lot of issues with the tablet becoz of its low build quality. BSNL tablet seems to be better in specification..

we are living in 2012 only if you want everything then just buy some apple product which is costly and it will full fill ur all requirements. in 3200 ds is best now a days phone is not availble an here is a tablet

I have been reading your comments, I feel that most of us who are looking at this device neither want nor deserve it. Try thinking out of broader prospective, it is a device not for show off but for real utility and hence will serve its purpose. i guess we all are looking at Ipad 5 (which is not yet even conceptualized) features at the price of Rs. 1000 and even still we shall be complaining. No body has forced anybody to go for it, just answer me a simple question out of total mobile users here in india how many use data services from mobile service operators, it is just a basic computing device which when connected to internet through wifi becomes powerful enough to sparkle a dream in less privileged population (might be I am true), but we all are looking towards it as a fancy device hoping that it would replace our much powerful laptops which we roam around with. I hope you all understand my point.
Just wait n watch. May you will get cheapest and quality tabs… after few months. Akash n BSNL tabs quality… god knows……
i agree with you but think about it it is a good option ,where there r many people who have the budget to buy a mobile but not a laptop & bsnl is giving then an option to get a flavor of laptop at an affordable price that’s better

No body is asking for IPad 5 or 6 for that matter but everybody has got a right to express his or her opinion about the device. 2ndly nobody had expected to get a tab for Rs. 2999/- or 3200/- earlier and lo! there is such a device. Who knows, when Govt of India launches Akash-II it may be an advanced device at the price 3000/-!3rd, i think even Pantel would object to what you say- “No body has forced anybody to go for it.” Perhaps you haven’t understood the mindset of people- Akash or TPad is a testimony to the innovation which is being shown by an erstwhile BPO- country. People have got a curiosity, an expectation about this exotic thing. And it is a good sign for the country and its march towards becoming a knowledge and Science & tech driven economy.
Lastly, Necessity is the mother of invention. Wish Karo!
If tablet available with WIFI/GPRS (Video Camera),it should be Very good & use full for all…
because Aakash (Commercial Version) Tablet has WiFi/GPRS but without Video Camera and BSNL Tablets are with WiFi/Front Camera but without GPRS.

hie evry1,after comparing both akash2 n bsnl, i concluded that ubislate7+ is better than t-pad coz of its connectivity through gprs with wifi. Calling function in ubi is nt a big deal coz we already hv cellphone.on other hand bsnl t-pad has hdmi port just to watch hd movies. I suggest all to go for high cost tablets just to meet all ur requirement. Low cost tablets are waste of money or companies just fooled indian peoples.

with lava or micromax 3g dongle (costs rs. 1800) you can make phone calls through lava gsm call software and of course 3g network connectivity for web access. You can install fring, nimbuzz andmake voip calls too for free.

I Have PENTA T PAD IS701r, I have the AIRTEL HUAWEI E1731, I cant able to connect it, I go for the service center and they told, to change the modem, Reliance GSM ZTE MF190, supporting please go for it, I brought the Airtel connection for 10K, & to modem and 10K for Data, now i need to go for another modem, what to do so…..?, also service center also very rare, No proper guidance from the customer care, so please go for the Good one . Otherwise ready to face the problem.
