BSNL T-Pad WS704C

Everyone is talking about BSNL tablets, mostly about the entry-level cheapest one IS701R. And since not much is known about the other two tablets, we’ll talk it out.

The second iteration of tablet from BSNL-Pantel is T-Pad WS704C. It also comes with Gingerbread flavour of Android (pun intended), i.e., Android 2.3.

The biggest advantage of WS704C over IS701R is that WS704C has a 7-inch CAPACITIVE touch-screen, which means you don’t have to put pressure on the screen to register your touch and also the screen responds very smoothly while operating.

Also, the screen is multi-touch capable. You can be sure that it can detect at least two fingers at the same time, so that you can use gestures like pinch-to-zoom, forward and backward and also in games which lets you use more than one finger at a time.

The WS704C also comes with in-built modem with a 2G BSNL SIM given already, although you can opt for a 3G SIM card from BSNL or buy other cards, whichever you may prefer. So now you don’t have to worry about searching for WiFi signals or carry an extra net dongle with you.

WS704C has the same processor as its cheaper cousin IS701R has. Both are powered by 1GHz IMAP210 ARM11 processor.

There comes a generous 512MB DDR3 RAM in this. DDR3 RAM being faster than DDR2, and also larger size of RAM, this tablet provides smoother response while multi-tasking and less hangs and crashes of device while doing heavy tasks.

The internal memory is kicked up to 4GB, which is still expandable with the addition of microSD card.

The device also comes with a full sized USB port and an HDMI port, both of which uses have been discussed earlier.

The battery is also ampere to 4000mAh, which can be expected to run 6 hours of continuous video playback.

Bluetooth has also made standard on this device with version 2.1 with Enhanced Data Rate (EDR), allowing you to pair bluetooth stereo headphones with the device along with other devices.

GPS has also made its way in this device and helps you find your location and navigate with the help of in-built map database by Google Maps.

Other stuff includes standard options of WiFi, 0.3MP front-camera, G-sensor for tilt screen and motion gaming, 3.5mm headphone jack and a reset button.
